2016 GoT Waivers in Review

If you've been listening to the podcast the last few months, you know we've been going through each division one at a time with a deep analysis of their 2016 season.  One aspect of those analyses was my waivers in review segment.  Below you'll find my notes from those casts for each division.  Keep in mind there may be some out of date information regarding my commentary on players, since some of these were written months ago.  Also I'm terrible at this game, so take it for what you will!

The Vale - Grade: D+
Half the division largely ignored waivers, and the other two don’t have much to show for their efforts outside of a couple failed starts and some late picks.
  • House Baelish:
    • 13 BB waiver pickups, $875 spent.
    • Eddie Royal in June for $12.  Never started him despite the early season surge.  Still on roster.
      • Net gain: An old bear
    • Jaron Brown in June for $7.  Never started.  Traded week 7 to Wode in exchange for Landry Jones, who put up 13pts that week while Ben was out.  Wasn’t enough to beat Forrester.  Dropped week 14 to pick up Neal Sterling (Iron Bank grabbed Landry off waivers at this time).
      • Net gain: a roster spot for Julius’ backup, a too-big WR
    • Dexter McCluster week 3 for $348, Baelish’s biggest BB purchase.  Signed to the Chargers that week to supposedly fill in for Woodhead.  We all know how that went.  Kept on IR most of the season and dropped earlier this month.
      • Net gain: nothing
    • CJ Fiedorowicz week 5 for $77.  Started week 7 in the loss to Forrester.  Then again in the week 11 double-header against Maesters and Hightower, where he scored 12pts (though Baelish beat each opponent by more than 12).  Traded week 13 to Bank along with JStew for a 2nd.
      • Net gain: half a 2nd
  • House Egen:
    • 5 BB waiver pickups, $851 spent.
    • Bryce Petty in June for $500.  Dropped 27 days later.
      • Net gain: a 50% BB deficit two months before the season even started.
    • Dezmin Lewis in June for $200.  Dropped prior to week 1.
      • Net gain: nada
    • Colt McCoy in July for $50.  Traded to Clegane as part of massive deal sending Snead/Coates/Cousins/J.Gordon for Palmer/Christine/Snead.
      • Net gain: Difficult to determine, was the Cousins handcuff the key to that Clegane deal?
    • Drew Stanton in July for $100.  Traded week 11 to Baratheon along with Palmer/Duke/2.04 for Tannehill/Hill/3.09.
      • Net gain: Gambles abound.  If the Palmer handcuff was key to the deal, then upgrades at QB and WR.
    • Ryan Griffin in August for $1.  Started week 5 against Children, scoring 2pts.  Was irrelevant to Egen’s victory.
      • Net gain: 2nd or 3rd string TE with Brock throwing the ball.
  • House Royce:
    • 1 BB waiver pickup, $76 spent.
    • Michael Vick just before week 1 for $76.  Dropped four days later.
      • Net gain: nothing.
  • House Hardyng:
    • 26 BB waiver pickups, $723.10.
    • Bryce Petty in July for $1.  Traded to Banefort for the 3.06 just before week 1.
      • Net gain: An early 3rd.
    • Jalen Richard in August for $1.01.  Started in week 2 against Egen scoring 4.6pts, loss.  Traded the following week to Clegane in a Keenan package for Lockett and Derrick Henry.
      • Net gain: Nothing, as Keenan on his own is worth more than the return.
    • Rob Kelley in August for $25.04.  Started week 1 against Royce, putting up 0pts in the loss.  Traded week 7 to Clegane along with 2.11 and 2.12 for Devin Funchess.
      • Net gain: roughly ⅓ of a Carolina receiver.
    • Brian Quick week 1 for $0.  Traded week 4 to Banefort for Gavin Escobar.
      • Net gain: Witten’s successor?
    • Denard Robinson week 14 for $50.  Never started and still rostered.
      • Net gain: a 3rd string Jacksonville RB.
    • Tre Mason week 16 for $500.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: an end of season BB dump on a potential Gurley handcuff.

The Reach - Grade: B-
Despite two of the teams not making much use of waivers, the other two attempted to make up for it with their returns.  Both Hightower and Maesters took their waiver pickups to wheel and deal, sweetening offers, and it seems to have paid off for both teams.
  • House Tyrell:
    • 1 BB waiver pickup, $250.
    • Antone Smith week 9 for $250.  Jacquizz had just gotten hurt, the third TB RB to go down this season.  Never started, and placed on IR the next week.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: nothing much, he’s too far down the chart to matter, despite the freak situation that had him on the field for three games this year, for 10 total caries.
  • House Hightower:
    • 16 BB waiver pickups, $772.41.
    • Shaun Draughn in June for $1.  Notable because Gillislee was dropped to pick him up.  Never started, still rostered.
      • Net gain: An old semi-handcuff.  Less than that, since Gillislee was lost as a result.
    • Eli Rogers in July for $1.  Started week 2 against Tyrell, putting up 3pts in the 7pt loss (two players on roster could have been started instead for the win).  Traded week 10 to Tully in exchange for Antonio Gates.  Gates was started that week against Maesters, putting up 15 pts in the 5pt victory (Bennett also put up 15 pts on Hightower’s bench)  Gates traded week 12 to Santagar for Zach Miller, who was promptly traded in a package including John Brown and Carroo to Baratheon in exchange for Will Fuller, who was never started and is still rostered.
      • Net gain: A rollercoaster at tight end, resulting in a 3 for 1 purchase of a young Osweiler target.
    • Adam Humphries in August for $25.  Started weeks 7-9 (L-Bara, W-Tarly, W-Tyrell, 8&14pts in the two wins).  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: An interesting dice throw for the WR2 in Tampa Bay.
    • Jacquizz Rodgers week 3 for $20.  Hightower had been starting Sims all season, so picking up his backup the week before he went down was good foresight.  Rodgers was started weeks 5, 7 and 8 (losses to Swann/Bara, win against Tarly), scoring upward of 14pts each time.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: With Martin gone and only Sims ahead of him, Jacquizz looks like a solid pickup for only 2% BB invested.
    • Cameron Meredith week 5 for $85.87.  Started week 6 scoring 19pts in the win against Targaryen, then in week 7 scoring only 2pts in the Bara loss.  Traded week 7 with Malcolm Mitchell to Bara for John Brown (who was started weeks 8, 10, and 11 putting up shit scores), then traded right back to Bara in that earlier deal for Fuller.
      • Net gain: gotta call this one a loss, I think.  Essentially traded Cameron/Mitchell/Caroo/Gates for Will Fuller.
  • Oldtown Maesters:
    • 18 BB waiver pickups, $871.
    • Tom Savage in June for $0.  Kept all year and currently on taxi squad.
      • Net gain: The future Houston QB?
    • Kenneth Farrow week 1 for $0.  Dropped week 4 to make room for Joique Bell.
      • Net gain: nada
    • Travaris Cadet week 2 for $56.  Started that week and put up 4pts in the 23pt loss to Tarly (one of the latter’s only two wins).  Offered up in a sweepstakes which House Reed “won” by sending over Asiata.  He held Asiata until week 8 when he traded him to Sand Snakes to upgrade a 3rd to a 2nd.  That 2nd was immediately traded to Royce for Braxton Miller, who was traded a week later to Reed for a broken Jamaal Charles, who then sat on IR.
      • Net gain: converting a 3rd into Jamaal Charles.
    • Rex Burkhead week 9 for $11, dropped week 10, then purchased again week 12 for $567.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: a free agent RB who performed well wrapping up last season.  Depending on where he lands, this could be a huge gain for an end-of-season BB dump.
  • House Bulwer:
    • 1 BB waiver pickup, $9.
    • Tavarres King week 1 for $9. Never started, still rostered.
      • Net gain: The WR5 or 6 on the Giants...so not much.

The Westerlands - Grade: C
One team managed their very few waiver pickups well, but the other three can’t make the same boast.  Two of them didn’t do much of anything regarding waivers, and the last made a LOT of moves...but didn’t get any of them to really pay dividends.
  • House Casterly:
    • 5 BB waiver pickups, $14.
    • Robert Turbin week 1 for $10.  Never started, still rostered.
      • Net gain: Hard to say with the Colts backfield.  If Gore keeps his current carry share and they take an early RB in the draft, could be bad news for Turbin.  But if either of those change, Turbin could easily be a fantasy starter next season.
    • Robby Anderson week 1 for $1.  Never started, still rostered.
      • Net gain: A decent dart throw at that crazy Jets offense.  If Decker misses a step, could be valuable.
    • CJ Uzomah week 1 for $1.  Started weeks 2 and 4 (put up 3pts in casterly’s 10pt win over lannister, then 7pts in casterly’s 24pt loss to sand snakes).  Still rostered.
      • Net gain:  If Eifert keeps getting hurt, CJ’s not a bad stash for a rainy day (or trade bait).
    • John Kuhn week 5 for $1.  Never started, still rostered.
      • Net gain: uhm...can’t say this one is really worth much.  I love the guy, but you’re never gonna be able to predict the weeks he’s gonna vulture 3 TDs.
  • House Lannister:
    • 4 BB waiver pickups, $0.
    • Matt Cassel, Trevor Siemian, Vernon Adams and Nelson Spruce in June.  Nelson and Spruce have sat on his taxi all season, Cassel is still rostered.  Siemian was traded almost immediately to Iron Bank for a 5th round pick.  Ouch.
      • Net gain: Two free agents, a likely retired QB, and the 5.27.
  • House Clegane:
    • 2 BB waiver pickups, $152.
    • MarQuies Grey week 12 for $101. Still rostered.
      • Net gain: Top of the depth chart TE who just got signed a 2 year extension.  Not too bad for Clegane’s first waiver pickup in the league.  Except Julius Thomas...whoops.
    • George Atkinson week 12 for $51.  Dropped almost immediately, picked up again and dropped immediately in December.
      • Net gain: Some end-of-season roster fun.
  • House Banefort:
    • 33 BB waiver pickups, $857.01.
    • Tyler Gaffney for $16 in August, then again for $0 in week 9.  He was dropped before week 1 (for nothing).  After week 9 has been rostered, but never started.
      • Net gain: A free agent RB.
    • Devin Fuller for $3 in week 1, and then $0 week 9..  Kept on IR for two weeks before being dropped to pick up Corey Grant.  Picked up week 9 for a single week (Barkley dropped for him), then dropped again to pick up Dominique Jones.
      • Net gain: Roster churn entertainment value?
    • Cameron Meredith for $3 in week 1.  Dropped week 3 to pick up Crocket Gillmore.
      • Net gain: A missed value, I’d say.  Here’s an example of how you can make too many waiver moves.
    • Robby Anderson for $4 in week 1.  Kept on taxi for first half of season (except when swapped out with DJ and Gurley week 3...that was weird).  Started weeks 8 onward. Still rostered.
      • Net gain: Mentioned earlier, decent stash to see how NYJ plays out.
    • Logan Thomas for $261 in week 13.  Dropped two weeks later to pick up Brandon Wilds.
      • Net gain: A loss of a hefty chunk of BB funds for a team that loves to play the waivers, but end of season so not unreasonable.  In the end, nada.

The Riverlands and Iron Islands - Grade: B+
Greyjoy and Wode both ended up with something to show for their blind bid efforts, while their two division mates did next to nothing on the wire (BwoB did literally nothing).
  • House Greyjoy:
    • 11 BB waiver pickups, $888.
    • Dennis Pitta in July for $0, dropped Fiedorowicz to make room.  Started 5 times over the course of the season including the week 14 playoff game where he contributed 4pts to the defeat of Baelish.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: A semi-reliable TE, though Fiedorowicz seems more valuable at this point.
    • Jaron Brown prior to week 1 for $30.  Never started and deactivated to IR week 8.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: This is a wait and see.  He seemed promising going into last season, but a crowded receiver corps and a torn ACL put an end to that.  AZ seems confident in him, though.
    • Dexter McCluster week 3 for $303, dropped Gillmore to make room.  Never started, deactivated to IR week 11, dropped this past Monday.
      • Net gain: a 30% budget sink.  When he was picked up by SD following Woodhead’s injury, it seemed promising he’d take over that role in the offense.  But it wasn’t to be.
    • Bobby Rainey week 4 for $60.86.  Never started, dropped week 13 to pick up Daniel Brown.
      • Net gain: uhm...a young receiver in Chicago not named White or Meredith?
    • Matt Barkley week 12 for $437.  With Luck out Greyjoy needed a 2nd starting QB pretty badly for the final Winter games.  Barkley put up 20 pts, seemingly respectful, but had he not been started it would likely have been Tyreek in his place, who scored 35pts.  Neither would have been enough to defeat Swann or Targaryen, but still interesting.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: the backup to Hoyer?
  • Brotherhood Without Banners
    • 0 BB waiver pickups, $0.
    • I wish I had something to write here...but he made literally 0 waiver moves.
      • Net gain: a whole lot of nothing.
  • House Wode
    • 8 BB waiver pickups, $670.17.
    • Eli Rogers in August for $21.02.  Started in over half of Wode’s matches, with three 10+pt games and the rest duds.
      • Net gain: Though expected to produce more in Martavis’ absence, Rogers still carved something of a role for himself.  Still, we’ll need to wait out Martavis’ situation to make a call here.
    • Fitzgerald Toussaint in August for $12.13.  Never started, still rostered.
      • Net gain: the perennial backup to the Bell/DeAngelo.  Though with Williams’ free agency, who knows what happens the next time Bell tokes up.
    • De’Anthony Thomas week 14 for $285.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: Roster bubble fodder for an end-of-season blind bid dump.
    • Garrett Celek in week 16 for $350.
      • Net gain: Another blind bid dump...ew, though.
  • House Tully
    • 4 BB waiver pickups, $177.05.
    • Jace Amaro week 1 for $45.54.  Never started, currently on taxi squad.
      • Net gain:
    • Damiere Byrd week 1 for $5.25.  Dropped week 2.
      • Net gain: A single-week experiment.
    • Scott Tolzien week 1 for $1.01.  Started week 3 against Greyjoy, putting up 0pts, and then week 12 against Swann and Fell putting up 8pts.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: Luck’s handcuff, could be valuable depending on if the guy keeps missing so many games every season.
    • Mark Sanchez week 5 for $125.25.  Never started, still rostered.
      • Net gain: A free agent QB...but not one of the ones you really want right now.

The North- Grade: B-
Two houses made only a single waiver move the entire season, while the other two were a bit more active.  Reed killed it with players like Pryor and Gabriel, while Forrester planted a few seeds that haven’t all yet panned out.  In the end, too much meat left on the bone for a division that was supposed to be one of the toughest.
  • House Forrester:
    • 6 BB waiver pickups, $497.85.
    • Chris Johnson in June for $101.50.  Never started, put on IR week 5, still rostered.
      • Net gain: An old CJ?k.  Maybe he gets picked up by some team for one last year of backup play?
    • Eddie Royal week 1 for $1.10.  Started weeks 5 and 6 putting up 9pts in each game in wins against Tully and Greyjoy.  Benched the rest of the season until being put on IR week 17, still rostered.
      • Net gain: A two game plugin for early victories.
    • Bobby Rainey week 5 for $204.75.  Never started, dropped week 13 to pick up Taliaferro.
      • Net gain: nothing.
    • Vernon Davis and Niles Paul week 6 for $104.15 and $75.85, respectively.  Both Washington TEs were rostered all season, and are still stashed there.
      • Net gain: Two tickets to the Reed-concussion lottery.
  • House Mormont
    • 1 BB waiver pickup, $10.
    • Kenjon Barner in June for $10.  Never started, still rostered.
      • Net gain: If Gordon goes down, a possible starting RB.
  • House Reed
    • 8 BB waiver pickups, $126.99.
    • Terrelle Pryor in June for $1.  Started every week from week 4 onward, putting up a total of 194pts on the season.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: Even if he somehow does regress on his new, better team, you can’t argue this isn’t a slam dunk waiver pickup.
    • Christian Ponder in August for $11.  Traded week 4 to Arryn along with the 2.23 for Brian Hoyer, who started weeks 5-7 before getting injured.  Hoyer then traded to Bank along with RG3 and Sharpe for Mike Wallace, who started for Reed the rest of the season and remains rostered.
      • Net gain: a catalyst to a couple of key trades for starters.
    • Taylor Gabriel week 9 for $57.33.  Started week 13 putting up 8pts.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: the WR2 behind Julio, fighting with Sanu for those targets.
    • Juwan Thompson week 9 for $57.33.  Never started, dropped in the new year to make room for IR players.
      • Net gain: a shot in the dark at the crumbling Denver backfield, that misfired.
    • Joique Bell week 10 for $0.33.  Never started, dropped two weeks later.
      • Net gain: Hilarious antics as I get to say his name on the pod again!
  • House Stark
    • 1 BB waiver pickup, $1000.
    • Shaun Hill week 1 for $1000.  Traded week 10 along with Nick Foles and the 4.18 to Bank in exchange for Daniel Chase, who is still rostered.
      • Net gain: Fun with backup QBs.

The Stormlands and Crownlands - Grade: D-
Despite his best efforts, even Baratheon’s pickups couldn’t make up for this divisions utter lack of interest in waiver pickups.
  • House Baratheon:
    • 5 BB waiver pickups, $1000.
    • Fozzy Whittaker in week 3 for $500.  Never started, traded to Forrester week 10 along with JStew in exchange for Mettenberger, Drake, and Langford.
      • Net gain: Overall, a lost starter in JStew for a bunch of hopeful backups, that didn’t pan out.
    • Jarius Wright in week 6 for $12.  Dropped three days later.
      • Net gain: Lost an insignificant amount of BB funds.
    • Percy Harvin in week 7 for $250.  Never started, dropped 4 weeks later.
      • Net gain: Lost a more significant amount of BB funds.
    • Antone Smith in week 7 for $235.  Put on IR, dropped at the end of the season.
      • Net gain: A hopeful stab at the destroyed Tampa backfield, which we know continued to get destroyed.
  • House Targaryen:
    • 6 BB waiver pickups, $192.
    • Fozzy Whitaker in week 2 for $5, dropping Jacquizz in the process.  Started week 6 against Hightower putting up 1.05pts in the crushing loss.  Dropped last week.
      • Net gain: The loss of Jacquizz Rodgers is a hefty price for what ended up a wasted handcuff stash.
    • Matt Barkley in week 12 for $150.  Never started, still rostered.
      • Net gain: Who knows, honestly.  He’s currently behind Hoyer as one of the only two SF QBs.  He could potentially start some games this year, and in a QB-starved league like this that could be very impactful.
  • House Swann:
    • 0 BB waiver pickups, $0.
    • Typical Kutztown behavior.
  • House Fell:
    • 1 BB waiver pickup, $177.
    • Travaris Cadet in week 2 for $177.  Never started, still rostered.
      • Net gain: Ingram’s handcuff, now that Hightower is gone.  With how much the Saints like to sit Ingram, this could prove worth the yearlong stash.

North of the Wall - Grade: B-
Outside of a couple big moves from two of the teams, this division is pretty lackluster when it came to waivers.  Free Folk made quite a few pickups, but only a couple ended up going anywhere.  The rest of this division all but ignored waivers, though that didn’t stop them from ultimately taking the throne.
  • White Walkers:
    • 4 BB waiver pickups, $388.
    • Stevie Johnson for $1 before week 1.  Put on IR immediately, still rostered.
      • Net gain: Just another cog in the Walkers IR army from last year.  Now just a wasted roster spot.
    • Reggie Bush for $1 before week 1.  Dropped three weeks later.
      • Net gain: nada
    • Jeff Driskel for $4 in week 1.  Also put on IR immediately.  Finally dropped last year.
      • Net gain: more IR fodder
    • Knile Davis for $382 in week 7.  This one is interesting since he had just traded a copy of Davis away the previous day to Bara in exchange for Jesse James.  The new copy has never been started and is still rostered.
      • Net gain: If I’m following this right, he basically got a free Jesse James out of it.
  • Free Folk:
    • 13 BB waiver pickups, $943.21.
    • Mike Gillislee for $121.21 in July.  Started weeks 7 (2pts) and 8(17pts), still rostered.
      • Net gain: a solid contender for the RB1 in New England, even though that’s never a fun weekly decision.
    • Adam Humphries for $11 before week 1.  Started weeks 4, 5, 7, and 11, though never putting up many points.  He was traded along with DMC to OTM for Hurns and a 3rd.
      • Net gain: a bunch of “wrong-guy-to-start”s, but ultimately Hurns isn’t the worst stash.
    • Tom Savage for $1 before week 1.  Taxied until week 16 when he was started for the finals of the Hand’s Tourny (which he won).  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: a banner in the throne room, not bad for $1.
    • Colt McCoy for $103.56 in week 3.  Never started, still rostered.
      • Net gain: backup QBs aren’t a terrible stash in this league, but not much was gained for this $100 purchase.
  • Night’s Watch:
    • 3 BB waiver pickups, $153.
    • Bruce Miller for $1 in August. Dropped week 1.
      • Net gain: nothing.
    • Dennis Pitta for $51 in week 1.  Started every week until his bye in week 8, then never started again.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: A couple good scores in weeks 2 and 5, and not a terrible starter in a league as TE-starved as this one.  Sadly the most recent injury makes this one ultimately a dud.
    • Jack Doyle for $101 in week 2.  Never started, traded in a blockbuster to Iron Bank along with Cruz and Alshon in exchange for Gio, Adams, Crowder, and Ebron.
      • Net gain: Although Alshon was clearly the key piece being sent, Doyle must have been necessary to make this deal happen for the Watch.  Looking back, this deal is amazing for the team, so very much worth the $101 spent early in the season to make it possible.
  • Children of the Forest:
    • 3 BB waiver pickups, $882.
    • Darrius Heyward-Bey for $272 in week 9. Started week 9, earning 0pts.  Dropped the following week.
      • Net gain: a 0 point starter for a week.
    • Rex Burkhead for $421 in week 12.  Started week 14 onward, earning an average of 5pts.  Traded in February to Hightower for Draughn and a 3.28.
      • Net gain: Not sure who he took with the third, but...bleh.
    • Ben Braunecker for $189 in week 12.  Dropped in February.
      • Net gain: totally random BB spend.

Essos and Dorne - Grade: C
Including last year’s Lord of Waivers winner, the Essos and Dorne division was a hotbed of blind bid activity.  That said, only one team actually ended up with anything of value after all those pickups (the Lord, himself).
  • Sand Snakes:
    • 11 BB waiver pickups, $61.
    • Case Keenum in June for $10.  Started weeks 5 and 7, earning ~7pts each week.  Still rostered.
      • Net gain: Starting quarterbacks are few and far between in a 32-team superflex, so battling in that Dornish 3-way I’m sure Keenum was a reassuring backup, though he was never started the weeks he actually performed decently.  Now he’s a fighting just to be a backup.
    • Marcedes Lewis Week 2 for $12.  Dropped a month later to pick up Russell Sheppard, and reacquired the next day in FCFS.  Then dropped, again, a week later.  Never started.
      • Net gain: something to break up the monotony?  He probably needs to do that every once in a while since he never joins chat.
    • Garrett Celek Week 5 for $6, dropping Vernon Davis.  Funny thing here, the other Celek was dropped the week before to pick up Vernon.  Garrett was dropped a week later to pick up Denard Robinson.  Another fun fact about the other Celek, Snakes traded to Don Jackson to me to get him back (boring trades, yah yah).
  • House Santagar:
    • 20 BB waiver pickups, $1000.
    • Trevor Siemian in June for $10.  Traded to Banefort prior to week 1 in exchange for Matt Jones, who was then packaged with Dez and Torrey Smith to Tyrell in exchange for Brandon Marshall and Donte Moncrief.
      • Net gain: I think I’d rather have Dez and Siemian, but I’m bad at this game.  The net gain is a crucial piece in eventually acquiring BMarsh and Moncrief.
    • Dennis Pitta in August for $11.  Dropped a week later.
      • Net gain: Ouch, just hold on to guys sometimes!  You gotta give them room to grow!  I guess he had Gates at TE (and later on, Graham), but still, Pitta coulda been a decent throwin to some mid-season trade.
    • Rob Kelley in August for $15.  Started week 11 for his 31pt monster game, then immediately traded to Reed along with Keith Marshall and Fiedorowicz in exchange for Jimmy Graham.  Damnit I make bad trades…
      • Net gain: Essentially Jimmy Graham, super cheap.
    • Taylor Gabriel Week 3 for $21.  Dropped a few weeks later, then picked back up the following day, then dropped again.
      • Net gain: nothing, though for a little while he had a guy an injury away from stardom!
  • The Iron Bank of Braavos:
    • 7 BB waiver pickups, $406.
    • Dujuan Harris in June for $1.  Dropped two days later.  Reacquired in FCFS in Week 8, again dropped two days later.
      • Net gain: indecision
    • Jarius Wright in June for $1.  Dropped two weeks later.
      • Net gain: more indecision
    • Shaun Hill before Week 1 for $400.  Traded Week 5 along with Bradford, Crowder, and Julio to Baratheon in exchange for Cam, Derek Anderson, Ingram, Mike Wallace, and Santi’s 4th.  Interestingly, Bank bought Hill back in Week 8 from Stark (along with Nick Foles and a 4th) in exchange for Daniel Chase.
      • Net gain: who knows, depends on how much Bara needed Hill for that monster deal to go down.
    • Notable mentions to pickups Dreamius and Supernaw.
  • The Faceless Men:
    • 9 BB waiver pickups, $460.
    • Benny Cunningham in July for $1.  Never started, dropped in May.
      • Net gain: wasted bench space.
    • Russell Sheppard Week 8 for $351.  Started that week, scoring 10 pts in the loss against Santi.  Dropped at the end of the season.
      • Net gain: more waste, though I’m sure it felt good for a moment watching him score against a division rival.
    • Akeem Hunt Week 11 for $103.  Dropped a month later, then immediately reacquired in FCFS.  Then dropped again in March.
      • Net gain: who needs roster space, anyway?
